Abstract:
PET/CT offers the unique ability to acquire PET and CT data with rapid full body registration in a single scanning session, and starts new diagnostic strategies in oncology imaging. Some new advances of research and clinical study on PET/CT were summarized briefly, including the choice of crystals, development of CT,radiotherapy plan, attenuation correction with CT,respiratory motion and CT contrast induced artifacts.
The reasearch status quo of tumor integrin αvβ3 receptor scintigraphy
LI Qian-wei
2003, 27(5): 198-200.
Abstract:
Integrin αvβ3 receptor is not only expressed on cells surface of many malignant tumors with higher level, but expressed on the neovasculature endothelial cell membrane in malignant tumor tissue with extremely high density and has no expression or cannot be detected in mature vascular endothelial cell and most of the normal organic system. The small molecul cyclic peptides containing RGD motif is an effective antagonist for αvβ3 receptor, which have height selectivity and affinity bind to αvβ3 receptor and is one kind of potential tumor receptor imaging agnet.
Aminopyrine breath test
YAN Wei-li, JIANG Yi-bin
2003, 27(5): 201-203.
Abstract:
Aminopyrine breath test (ABT)is the first and most frequently utilized breath test proposed for the assessment of liver function. It is a simple, safe, sensitive and non-invaseive test which has proved to be useful to refine the diagnosis, monitor therapeutic efficacy, determine the severity of various kinds of liver injury and foresee the prognosis of cirrhotic patients and liver transplantion.
Advances in research of targeting delivery and controlled release of drug-loaded nanoparticles
TAN Zhong-hua
2003, 27(5): 204-207,215.
Abstract:
Biochemistry drug,at present,is still the main tool that human struggle to defeat the diseases.So,de-veloping safe and efficacious technique of drug targeting delivery and controlled release is key to enhance cura-tive effect, decrease drug dosage, and lessen its side effect.Drug-loaded nanoparticles, which is formed by con-jugate between nanotechnology and modern pharmaceutics,is a new fashioned pharmic delivery carrier.Because of advantages in pharmic targeting transport and controlled or slow release and improving bioavailability,it has been one of developing trend of modern pharmaceutical dosage forms.
The application of PET in endocrine tumors
YUAN Zhi-bin
2003, 27(5): 208-211.
Abstract:
There are wide application of PET in endocrine tumors, including thyroid cancer, parathyroid adenoma, pheochromocytoma and neuroblastoma. Many papers concluded that in diagnosing endocrine tumors,PET does not show apparent advantages comparing with traditional radionuclide imaging methods. But as a useful complementary method, its clinical value has been recognized.
The cinical utilization and development of assay for cardiac troponin I
ZHAO Bao-jian
2003, 27(5): 212-215.
Abstract:
Cardiac troponin I (cTnI)is one of the subunits of cardiac troponin.Only a small amou-nt of cTnI can be found in normal serum. Its concentration increases rapidly when myocardiac cells is damaged. With the gradually improvement of analytical methods of cTnI,it has been extensively used to help clinical diagnosis and monitor the therapeutic efficacy of cardiac diseases.
Clinical value of tissue polypeptide specific antigen
YANG Liu
2003, 27(5): 216-218.
Abstract:
The high recurrence of malignant tumor is one of the important factors in mortality of the can-cer.The way to raise the rate of early diagnosis in recurrence of the malignant tumor is to raise the prognosis of survival rate. The tissue polypeptide specific antigen has its dominance in early diagnosis of the recurrence of the malignant tumor.
Performance measurements of positron emission tomographs(NEMA NU2-2001)
HE Xiao-hong, FENG Yan-lin
2003, 27(5): 218-224.
Abstract:
This paper is concerning on the NEMA Standard Publication NU2-2001of Performance Measure-ments of Positron Emission Tomographs, which is the revised edition of the NEMA Standard Publication NU2-1994.Seven primary sections are included, such as:definitions, symbols and referenced publications;general;spatial resolution;scatter fraction, count losses and randoms measurement;sensitivity;accuracy:corrections for count losses and randoms;image quality, accuracy of attenuation and scatter corrections.
Researches of radioresistance of Deinococcus radiodurans
CHEN Jian, LIU Fen-ju
2003, 27(5): 225-227.
Abstract:
Deinococcus radiodurans is a bacteria which is extremely resistant to radiation and other DNA damage factors. The researches of it focus on finding the mechanism of its resistance and ways to clear radioactive waste by engineering the bacteria. To date, the researches have revealed three respects of the resistance mechanism: (1)The high efficient repair of DNA damage. (2)Specific survival strategy. (3)Ability to clear free radicals effectively.
p16 negative control pathway and G1 arrest induced by radiation
WANG Xiao-mei, JU Gui-zhi
2003, 27(5): 228-231.
Abstract:
The molecular mechanism of G1 arrest induced by radiation was not very clearly. However, the changes of p16-Cyclins-CDKs were observed after UV or ionizing radiation. This negative regulated pathway is not depended on p53.The present report suggests that p16 pathway may play an important role in G1 arrest in-duced by radiation.
FL and radiation hematopoietic injury
YU Li-mei, CHEN Xiao-hua
2003, 27(5): 232-235.
Abstract:
FL (flt3 ligand)is an early acting hematopoietic cytokine.By binding and activating its specific tyro-sine kinase receptor flt3,FL can stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem and progeni-tor cells.Recently,it has been shown that the level of FL in plasma of patients with bone marrow aplasia in-creases dramatically.Plasma level of FL also can be elevated and is a possible bio-indicator for bone marrow aplasia in radiation-induced damage.Furthermore,FL,alone or in combination with other cytokines, provides protection from bone marrow aplasia after radiation.
Survivin and radiation-induced apoptosis
GAO Yang
2003, 27(5): 236-238.
Abstract:
Survivin is a intracellular protein that belongs to the inhibitor of apoptosis gene family.Survivin is mostly expressed in fet al tissues and many cancer cell lines, but it is not detected in normal adult tissuses ex-pect for the thymus and testis. It is important to study the molecular mechanisms of surviving both in apopto-sisand and cell division.Furthermore, surviving would be a potential new target for the cancer therapy.
Studies on factors of influence radiation sensitivity
DU Wei-xia
2003, 27(5): 238-240.
Abstract:
Many factors could influence the radiation sensitivity.Germ cell damage, cytogenetic injury, cell apoptosis,DNA damage and repair were observed as end point. The results showed that the age, inheritance, sex, life habit (smoking),low dose irradi ation could influence the radiation sensitivity.
