Abstract:
PET/CT myocardial blood flow (MBF) quantification technique is currently considered to be the 'gold standard' for non-invasive assessment of MBF and myocardial flow reserve (MFR). Nevertheless, due to various limitations such as difficulties in obtaining positron-emitting myocardial perfusion imaging agents, this technique is not well developed in clinical practice in China. The cardiac-dedicated SPECT MBF quantification technique equipped with a new semiconductor cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector has been used in clinical practice in China recently, which can provide quantitative assessment of MBF and MFR. This expert consensus introduces the related medication preparation, acquisition protocols, and the diagnostic and prognostic value of CZT-dedicated SPECT MBF quantitative technology in clinical applications, which in order to further regulate and promote its application in China.
