Abstract:
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the major diseases that seriously threaten human health. SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) is able to diagnose CAD noninvasively, stratify the risk and determine the prognosis. With the clinical application of a new generation of dedicated cardiac SPECT equipped with cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector, not only the acquisition time, radiation dose, and image quality of SPECT MPI have been significantly improved and enhanced, but also the dynamic tomographic acquisition and quantitative myocardial blood flow measurement have been realized more conveniently, which has a very important incremental value for the accurate diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of CAD. The authors review the clinical application and research progress of CZT dedicated cardiac SPECT MPI and its quantitative blood flow measurement for CAD.
