Abstract:
The unique chemical and physical properties of buckminsterfullerene (C
60) and its derivatives, especially the excellent ability to eliminate free radicals, have generated increasing interest for researchers in the field of biomedicine.Subsequently, considerable investigations have been conducted into the biological effects of C
60, and remarkable progress has been made in recent years. In this paper, we mainly review the biological effects of various C
60 derivatives, particularly on the free radical scavenging effect and its significance in practical application.
