Abstract: Deinococcus radiodurans is a bacteria which is extremely resistant to radiation and other DNA damage factors.The researches of it focus on finding the mechanism of its resistance and ways to clear radioactive waste by engineering the bacteria.To date,the researches have revealed three respects of the resistance mechanism: (1)The high efficient repair of DNA damage. (2)Specific survival strategy. (3)Ability to clear free radicals effectively.
