Abstract: Cell adhesion molecules(CAMs) are a group of membrane or transmembrane glycoproteins which modulate the cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix interaction. The role of CAMs is involved in cell adhesion, migration, differentiation and signal transduction. Ionizing radiation can induce the changes of the CAMs in normal tissue or tumor tissue, depending on irradiation dose and postirradiation time. A good dose-effect pattern was found between expression of CAMs and exposure dose. It means that change of CAMs induced by radiation has a potential of biodosimetry of radiation.
