Abstract: Radiation therapy is a potent physical entity with dramatic effects in both malignant and surrounding normal tissues. Untoward reactions to radiation therapy in normal tissues are most frequently classified as either acute or delayed reactions. They are often progressive and serious and occasionally even lethal. These injuries effectively limit the clinical dose of radiation. This article mainly provides an overview of the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for delayed radiation injuries.
