水凝胶给药系统在放射性肠炎中的潜在应用

Potential applications of hydrogel drug delivery systems in radiation enteritis

  • 摘要: 放射性肠炎(RE)是腹腔及盆腔恶性肿瘤放疗后的常见并发症,尚无有效疗法,其严重影响患者的生活质量。目前RE的治疗策略以对症治疗缓解症状为主,但现有药物存在肠道滞留时间短、靶向性差、不良反应大等局限性,不仅影响RE的治疗效果,也容易使患者的治疗依从性降低。因此,发展新型药物递送系统,实现RE治疗的减毒增效具有重要意义。笔者概述了RE的发病机制与常规治疗策略,重点阐述了水凝胶给药系统在RE治疗中的研究进展和应用前景,以期为新的RE水凝胶给药系统研发和临床转化提供理论支撑。

     

    Abstract: Radiation enteritis (RE) is a common complication following radiotherapy for abdominal and pelvic malignancies. Currently, there is no effective treatment for RE, which significantly impacts patients′ quality of life. RE treatment strategies primarily relies on symptomatic treatment to alleviate symptoms, however, existing medications have limitations, such as brief intestinal retention, inadequate targeting, and significant toxicities and side effects. These limitations not only undermine the therapeutic effect of RE but also reduce patient compliance. Therefore, the development of innovative drug delivery systems that aim to enhance the efficacy and reduce the toxicity of RE treatment is of utmost importance. The authors provided an overview of the pathogenesis and conventional treatment strategies for RE, while emphasizing the research progress and application prospects of hydrogel drug delivery systems in RE treatment, aiming to provide a theoretical support for the development of novel RE hydrogel drug delivery systems and their translation into clinical practice.
