The evaluation of ¹¹C-flumazenil PET in the localisation of epileptic foci

Abstract

the density of central benzodiazepine (cBZR) receptor is significanly reduced in epileptic foci and it is regdarded as the specific biochemical marker of epileptic foci.¹¹C-flumazenil PET can measure the cBZR desity and is superior to MRI and ¹⁸F-FDG in accurate presurgical identification of epileptic foci.
