A new approach for early diagnosis of the acute radiatio syndrome

The new approach is based on the recognition and assessment of clinical signs and symptoms in the early phase after acute radiation exposure. Health impairment due to ionizing radiation is integrative quantified. The aim is to assess and document systematically the damage to the individual as a function of time to establish a prognosis of the patient's outcome. It could help medical personnel take the appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic actions.
