¹⁸F-fallypride: an excellent dopamine D2 receptor imaging agent for PET

Abstract

¹⁸F-fallypride is a novel dopamine D2 receptor imaging agent for PET. With the high affinity to dopamine D2 receptor (K_i=0.03 nmol/L) and moderate lipophilicity (logK_w=2.43), it is suitable for visualizing both striatal and extrastriatal dopamine D2/D3 receptor binding in the brain. Its synthesis, pharmacology, distribution in vivo and clinic study are reviewed in this paper.
