Shielding calculation and assessment in 131I therapy for thyroid cancer

    Abstract
  • Objective To study the method of shielding calculation in 131I therapy for thyroid cancer and provide technical support for radiation protection assessment in construction project.
    Methods Comprehensive evaluation is made after shielding thickness is calculated theoretically by collecting basic information.
    Results Shielding design provided by the hospital can not meet radiation protection requirements in 131I therapy for thyroid cancer.
    Conclusion Shielding calculation need to be verified by the results of field measurements.
