Potential application of detection vulnerable plaque with ¹⁸F-FDG PET and MRI

Abstract

Abstract

The rupture of the vulnerable carotid artery plaque is the main reason of brain stroke. The combination of ¹⁸F-FDG PET and MRI providing the information about metabolism, morphology and composition at the same time, and this method will greatly improve the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis.
