Research on the zoning of medical emergency scene and the disposal procedures for the affected population under dirty bomb attacks

  • Objective To study the zoning of medical emergency scene and the disposal procedures for the affected population under dirty bomb attacks, and to provide suggestions and considerations for China′s emergency preparedness and response to large-scale nuclear and radiation emergencies.
    Methods Analyze by combining the research results on dirty bomb explosions of the United States and the General Procedures for Medical Response During a Nuclear or Radiation Emergencies issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency in 2024.
    Results Analyzed multiple challenges faced by the general medical emergency scene zoning and disposal procedures under the threat of a dirty bomb attack. Considering the current situation of professional rescue forces and emergency shelter construction in our country, the zoning of medical emergency scene and the disposal procedures for the affected population under dirty bomb attacks are established.
    Conclusion Dirty bomb attack events have their own particularities, establishing the zoning of the medical emergency scene and the disposal procedures for the affected population for such events is of great significance for China′s emergency preparedness and response to large-scale nuclear and radiation emergencies.
