Research progress in radiotherapy for brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer

  • In the world, the incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer are the highest of malignant tumors, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) representing the predominant pathological type. The brain is one of the most common distant metastatic sites of lung cancer, patients with brain metastases from lung cancer have a poor prognosis, and the modalities of multidisciplinary treatment are being improved. In the era of targeted therapy and immunotherapy, radiotherapy is a common local treatment modality for brain metastases and is widely used in clinical practice, the combined application of radiotherapy with targeted therapy or immunotherapy is a hot topic in clinical research at present. The authors reviewed the progress of radiotherapy for brain metastases from NSCLC, with the aim of providing a reference for the comprehensive treatment of patients in clinical practice.
