Clear cell renal cell carcinoma combined with abscess on ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT imaging: a case report

The authors reported a case of ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT imaging in clear cell renal cell carcinoma complicated with renal abscess. Renal clear cell carcinoma complicated with renal abscess is extremely rare clinically. The case analysis results showed that in ¹⁸F-FDG PET/CT imaging, the renal abscess area exhibited higher ¹⁸F-FDG uptake compared with the tumor metabolism. Combined with enhanced CT, the renal abscess area showed delayed enhancement. The lesion can be detected in this way, providing a basis for the diagnosis and treatment of clinicians.
