Bone scintigraphy shows the therapeutic effect of denosumab in the treatment of osteitis deformans: a case report

This article reports a case of a patient with osteitis deformans who underwent two years of treatment by denosumab. The whole body bone scintigraphy after treatment showed a significant decrease in the osteogenic activity of the affected bones compared to before treatment, which intuitively demonstrated the therapeutic effect of denosumab treatment on osteitis deformans and of important clinical value. The use of bone scintigraphy as a non-invasive examination method highlights its unique advantages in the diagnosis, evaluation of the extent of bone lesions in patients, and evaluation of post-treatment efficacy of this disease. It has good repeatability, high compliance, and higher sensitivity than other imaging examinations.
