Delayed epiphyseal closure in an adult with right femoral neck fracture detected by 99Tcm-MDP whole-body bone imaging: a case report
-
Abstract
The author reported a case of delayed epiphyseal closure with right femoral neck fracture caused by pituitary dysfunction due to treatment of intracranial germ cell tumor using 99Tcm-methylenediphosphonate (MDP) whole-body bone imaging. The author reviewed the literature and summarized the clinical manifestations and pathogenesis. Through the analysising of this case, it was demonstrated that 99Tcm-MDP whole-body bone imaging can be used to detect delayed epiphyses closure in adults and fractures, which helps clinicians evaluate the condition and efficacy.
